Belated Spookies

So I started this picture around Halloween but then that passed and I only now finished it. But you know what? If I was queen of everything, it would still be Halloween-season, because I love campy horror movies and novelty ghost lawn ornaments and those cheesy paranormal documentaries too much to just throw them all out on November first and pretend I care more about Thanksgiving.

Based on Aokigahara, a forest in Japan that has become infamous for its popularity as a suicide destination, second only to the Golden Gate Bridge. Aokigahara is five thousand times creepier though, because you aren't likely to find bloated corpses littering the ground or mummified bodies hanging from trees on the Golden Gate Bridge. My friend Lauren suggested I do some drawings based on this Cracked.com article to practice doing environments, and I like the idea even if it is November now, so I might keep going with it.

In other kind-of-spooky news, I saw a spider in my apartment today. I think it might have been a widow. Maybe even a black widow! A juvenile or male one! MY LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN IN VAGUE DANGER KIND OF!! SPOOKY!!

Also I'm going to try and blog more.
